With your support, we were able to bring the holiday spirit to pediatric oncology patients at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Long Beach Miller Children’s Hospital by delivering goodie bags (with $50 Target gift cards, mini squishmallows, and hot chocolate), toys, books, and beanies! Thank you again for making this possible!

To bring some holiday spirit to the patients spending their holiday season in the hospital, we delivered mini squishmallows and $50 Target gift cards to patients at CHOC and Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital. We hope everyone has a joyful holiday season! 

For Valentine's Day this year, we wanted to show our love for patients at Children's Hospital of Orange County and Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital by bringing Nothing Bundt cakes to all their patients! Happy Valentine's Day!

During September, we hosted a two day bone marrow drive on WashU's campus! We were able to register 41 new donors onto the bone marrow donor registry! We hope to host more events such as these in the near future. Thank you to Be the Match for coming to campus to train our volunteers and help swab students!

Easter goodie bags to Long Beach 
Miller Children's Hospital, as well as 
Children's Hospital of Orange County.  Each goodie bag contained candy (Peeps and gummy bears), as well as a sticker sheet and Easter bunny Lego kit. Happy Easter everyone!!

With September being childhood cancer awareness month, we wanted to put an emphasis on ways people could make a difference on their own. Each week of September, we focused on a different theme: childhood cancer, bone marrow and blood donor awareness, legislative activity, and lastly, helping our foundation. We posted on our social media ways individuals could contribute, so that at the end of the 30 days, everyone had at least 30 ways they could make a difference! 

Big thank you to Grant Frum from the Jessie Rees Foundation for teaching our high school members (Troy HS and Diamond Bar HS) about how we can make a difference from the comfort of our own homes. Our members enjoyed learning about Jessie Rees, a former pediatric cancer patient, and the work she did towards pediatric cancer advocacy! Be on the lookout for more sessions coming soon!

Partnering with two of our affiliated branches, Diamond Bar High School Sunshine and Troy Sunshine Club, Bryson's Sunshine Foundation hosted a week long awareness event with BetheMatch. BetheMatch is the worldwide donor registry for all bone marrow donors, and it is vital that people in the age range of 18-44 sign up. These bone marrow donations often save the lives of the cancer patients who receive them. 

We wanted to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Bryson’s birthday this year! We delivered Legos to patients at both Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Long Beach Miller’s Children’s Hospital. It means the world to be able to celebrate Bryson through sharing one of his favorite pastimes with other fighting warriors! This would not have been possible without your generosity and compassion, and we truly appreciate everyone’s continued support. 

Thank you to all who helped Bryson celebrate his 17th birthday! With your donations and support, we were able to share Bryson's passion for Lego building by delivering Legos to oncology patients at CHOC and Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital. Building Legos was one of Bryson's favorite pastimes during his hospital stay! 

This holiday season, we were able to provide each pediatric oncology patient at Children’s Hospital of Orange County with a Target gift card and a plush!

For childhood cancer awareness month, we hosted a cancer awareness week on Washington University in St. Louis' campus. Everyday of the week, we hosted events partnering with other clubs on campus, as well as Be the Match, to teach students about how they can make a difference and spread the word on their own. Special thank you to Be the Match's representatives for coming to WashU to give an informative infosession about how to donate bone marrow!

For Valentine's Day this year, we ordered Nothing Bundt Cakes for all the oncology patients at Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Orange County. Each patient got a lemon cupcake and red velvet cupcake. These were also Bryson's favorite flavors! 

Every year for Bryson’s birthday, the foundation hopes to do something that embodies Bryson’s kind, loving, and fun spirit. This year, we have been gifting build-a-bears to local children’s hospitals, symbolizing the affectionate nature my brother had. We hope these bears will give patients hugs and cuddles as they continue their fight! Thank you to Build A Bear for donating these adorable bears and with the support of our generous donors, we were able to purchase accompanying t-shirts and condos!

This Valentine's Day, we partnered with Nothing Bundt Cake to bring their cake desserts and handmade cards (made by DBHS Sunshine) to pediatric cancer patients at CHOC! The cards and cakes were given to patients both on the oncology floor and the outpatient infusion clinic (OPI). We love all of you and Happy Valentine's Day! 

This past September, Bryson's Sunshine Foundation partnered with one of our affiliated branches, DBHS Sunshine, to host a virtual walk. We fundraised $4245 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this walk! We not have been able to do it without you! 

This Valentine's Day, we continued our annual tradition of delivering Nothing Bundt Cakes to families at CHOC and Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital. We are always sending lots of love to the brave warriors out there!

This Easter, we delivered some Easter themed goodie bags to pediatric oncology patients at Children's Hospital of Orange County and Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital! We also bought Portos cookies for not only the patients, but the patient care team as well as a thank you for all of their continued hard work!

We are excited to announce that we have created a new reading corner at Long Beach Miller’s Children’s Hospital! Bryson was always an avid reader, whether it be during his hospital stays or even at the dinner table, so we are elated to be able to share Bryson’s passion for reading with other pediatric oncology patients! We wanted to give a big THANK YOU to everyone for their thoughtfulness and generosity. This would not have been possible without your help! We were able to provide nearly 200 books, and we hope to continuously bring new books to the hospital! 

To celebrate Bryson's 16th birthday, we donated two of his favorite things to Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Orange County: Legos and National Geographic Books. When Bryson was receiving treatment or whenever he had free time, he could be found building Legos or sharing facts he read about. 

Since Breanna has moved to St. Louis for college, we wanted to spread our reach to a new hospital: St. Louis Children's! We also visited Long Beach Miller Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Orange County. We were able to bring beanies, hand sanitizer, Target gift cards, and plushies to all the children in their oncology departments! Happy holidays! 

Thank you to Super Max & Bryce for coming to speak to our highschool Sunshine members! Super Max & Bryce is an Australian nonprofit that gifts nightlights to pediatric cancer patients in Australia and New Zealand. Not only did members gain exposure to an organization in a different country, they also enjoyed learning about how they could contribute to Super Max & Bryce's cause. 

Due to the cancellation of this year's annual CHOC Toy Drive, we opted to bring goodies and gift cards to the patients instead. Since many patients have to spend the holidays inpatient, we hoped that our mugs filled with treats and a $50 Target gift card would bring them some holiday spirit. Big thank you to Diamond Bar High School's Sunshine branch for writing all the beautiful cards for the patients!

Building LEGOs was one of Bryson's favorite past times. It is also popular among patients receiving chemotherapy, staying in the hospital, or being in isolation. Therefore, to celebrate Bryson's 14th birthday, our foundation hosted a LEGO Giveaway. We hoped to bring some joy into the lives of these brave warriors!
