Please take action in support of California Senate Bill 934!
California Senate Bill, 934, titled the California Childhood Cancer Research Fund Act, will request the Universities of California (schools that are part of the UC Regent) to create a Childhood Cancer Research Grant Program to provide funding for research involving childhood cancer treatments and the long-term effects of pediatric cancer. In other words, if this bill is passed, UC’s would need to have research funding exclusively dedicated to childhood cancer.
This bill would also require the creation of a Childhood Cancer Research Council made up of 7 members, including specialists in pediatric oncology. This council would be in charge of spearheading the program and distributing grants accordingly.
Because this bill could help catalyze the advancement of pediatric oncology treatments and medicine, we urge you to take action in support of this bill! Please email or contact your California State Senator and ask them to vote in support of SB-934 when the time comes!
